The Rules
The
following are the rules and requirements for membership in Explorer Post 2657, "The Flying Squirrels". Any questions
regarding the following can be brought to the attention of the Post Advisory
Committee.
1. Membership is open to young adults who are 14 and graduates of the eighth grade or 15 through 20 years of age. The Post has two types of memberships; Regular and Reserve. Regular Members are young adults who are 14 and graduates of the eighth grade or 15 through 18 years of age. Reserve Members are Regular Members who have elected to continue their involvement until the age of 21.

Meeting attendance is mandatory to maintain flying privileges.
In order to fly or schedule an airplane you must have attended at least
one meeting each month.
If not then you cannot fly the airplane unless you receive specific
permission from a Post Leader.

Each member (regular and reserve) pays monthly dues in the amount of
$5.00.
4.
Each member (regular and reserve) pays an annual fee to the Boy Scouts of
America in the amount of $7.00.
5. Flight and Instructor time will be noted on the airplane time sheet. Member’s will receive a bill from glenndale airport.
6. All members shall obey Federal, State, and local laws. Members caught using alcohol or other drugs will immediately have all membership and flying privileges revoked.
7. All members shall observe and comply with all FAA regulations, Airman Information Manual, local airport rules, and the information in the airplane’s Pilot Operations Handbook (POH).
8. The airplane can only be reserved and operated by members in good standing, who have met the attendance requirements and whose bill is current.
9. All members shall obey all the rules and regulations of the glenndale pilots club.
10. The airplane shall not be used for commercial purposes. Sharing of flight expenses with other members or passengers is permitted.
11. The airplane shall only be operated on FAA approved and designated landing strips. Operation of the airplane on gravel shall be avoided.
12. Members may only schedule and receive flight instruction from glenndale flight school.
13. Rates for ground and flight instruction are based on the agreement between the Post and glenndale flight school & pilots club.
